From Crime & Punishment #2 1948 (Lev Gleason)

I think the biggest crime Francis Boyd and David Reagan pulled off was those haircuts!  Francis had a blue print for a crime spree that had as its cornerstone finding a good place to hide.  Pretty cut and dry really, do the crime, hide and you just rake in the dough.

From Underworld #4 1948 (D.S. Publishing)

You got to give Slick aka Swami Marvella an A for effort in trying to pull off his latest scam.  Who would ever suspect that a ghost would give bad financial advice?  Good thing policewoman Jean Adams knows that all police officers have a good working knowledge of astrology and would have no problem figuring out the sign she left behind for them.

The Pulp Beacon presents the second annual Hard Boiled October!  All month long we will feature Hard Hitting Bare Knuckled In Your Face Crime Drama as seen in Golden Age Comics!

From Guns Against Gangsters #1 1948 (Premium)

Gregory Gayle loves guns. As you can see at the beginning of this story when he is just spending a nice relaxing day off with his guns.  A sudden call from headquarters cuts that day off short when he is called into action to figure out why guys in green suits are being randomly murdered.  So on the negative side he has to stop spending time with his guns, but on the plus side he is a detective and he will get to use some of those very guns he cherishes so much.  By the way his daughter Toni Gayle was a girl detective who starred in her own Golden Age comic adventures.
